Readings in the Field
Field users work from the Meters screen in the water workspace.
Before leaving the office
Section titled “Before leaving the office”- Charge your phone or tablet.
- Sign in while you have internet.
- Confirm you are in the correct company.
- Open Meters.
- Confirm the To Read list is available.
- Keep your camera ready if your company requires photo proof.
Find the meter record
Section titled “Find the meter record”- Open Meters.
- Start from To Read.
- Search by customer name, account reference, or meter number.
- Open the record.
- Compare the meter number in EasyBill with the physical meter.
Record the reading
Section titled “Record the reading”- Enter the current meter value exactly as shown.
- Attach a meter photo if the form asks for one.
- Add a note if the meter is hard to read, blocked, damaged, or disputed.
- Save the reading.
- Wait for the app to confirm the save.
- Return to Meters and continue with the next record.
Review flagged records
Section titled “Review flagged records”- Open Meters.
- Open Zero, Anomalies, or Long Unread.
- Open the record.
- Compare the value, photo, and previous reading history.
- Correct only the fields your role is allowed to edit.
- Escalate the record when you cannot confirm the reading.
If a meter cannot be read
Section titled “If a meter cannot be read”- Do not guess when the meter is blocked, missing, or unreadable.
- Add a note or issue detail if the app provides that field.
- Take a photo if the form allows evidence.
- Tell your supervisor which meter needs follow-up.
End-of-day review
Section titled “End-of-day review”- Open Meters.
- Check To Read for unfinished work.
- Check Anomalies for records that need notes.
- Reconnect to the internet if you worked in low coverage.
- Confirm saved readings are visible before closing the app.
