Quick Start for Field Staff

Use this guide when your job is to capture or review water meter readings from a phone, tablet, or browser.

  1. Confirm you have an EasyBill account from your company admin.
  2. Sign in while you have an internet connection.
  3. Confirm the active company in the app header.
  4. Open Meters. Field staff usually see the meter-reading workspace first.

The Meters screen has these tabs:

  1. To Read - meters that still need a reading.
  2. Zero - meters with zero-consumption results.
  3. Anomalies - readings that need review.
  4. Long Unread - meters without recent readings.
  5. Replace - meters marked for replacement work.
  1. Open Meters.
  2. Start from To Read.
  3. Search for the meter or customer if the list is long.
  4. Open the meter or customer record.
  5. Enter the current meter value exactly as shown on the meter.
  6. Attach a photo if the form asks for proof.
  7. Save the reading.
  8. Return to Meters and confirm the record moved out of the immediate work queue or appears with the correct status.
  1. Open Meters.
  2. Select Zero, Anomalies, or Long Unread.
  3. Open the record.
  4. Compare the current reading with the meter photo and previous reading.
  5. Correct the reading only if your role allows edits.
  6. Add a note or contact an admin when the reading cannot be corrected in the field.
  1. Open Meters and confirm your assigned readings are no longer pending.
  2. If you captured readings on a mobile device, keep the app open after reconnecting so pending work can upload.
  3. Tell your supervisor about any meters that were blocked, damaged, unreadable, or missing.
